Questions
How many challans should a challan book have?
A hundred sets is the standard binding and about a month of paperwork for a small fleet. Fewer than fifty and you are back at the press too often; more than two hundred and the book is too thick to carry in a cab.
What do I do if a challan in the book is spoiled?
Write CANCELLED across every copy and leave them in the book. Do not tear them out. The serial has to stay accounted for — a missing number looks like a movement you are hiding, and that is exactly what gets questioned.
What is the difference between a duplicate and a triplicate challan book?
Duplicate is two copies: one for the consignee, one you keep. Triplicate is three — consignee, transporter, consignor — which is what Rule 55 describes when a third party moves the goods. Use duplicate if you run your own vehicles, triplicate if you hand consignments to a transporter.
Is the challan book — duplicate free to download?
Yes. PDF download without a sign-up, an email address or a watermark. You can also put your own business name and GSTIN on it from the panel beside the document and print that — nothing you type is uploaded anywhere.
Can I change what is on this delivery challan?
